Perry Ellis/IndyCar has good race in Iowa.

We love our new partnership with IndyCar! The excitement of being involved in this fast-paced sport is revving-up the event engines for Perry Ellis, and we are watching the team's progress with tremendous interest. We are FANS!

Most recently, our team achieved a top ten result at the Iowa Corn Indy 250 in Newton, Iowa (June 18, 2009). Apparently having the weekend off was just what the doctor ordered for Dreyer & Reinbold Racing as both drivers, Tomas Scheckter (No.23) and Mike Conway (No. 24), finished in the top ten in the Newton Iowa race! The duo finished in sixth and eighth position for the Iowa Corn Indy 250.

As the green flag dropped, Mike Conway was off to a flawless start. Experience, laps and time were the right combination for rookie Mike Conway. The Brit started 19th and he too moved his way up the field in the first lap, going from 19th to 16th position.

After the first yellow he came in on lap six for fuel only. From that point on Mike drove a solid race bringing the Perry Ellis sponsored car home to his first top ten result of the season.

Dreyer & Reinbold Racing heads back to Indianapolis as they will have two days to prepare the cars before heading to Richmond International Raceway. Our cars were really competitive and great job to the guys” said Dennis Reinbold, Dreyer & Reinbold Racing co-owner.
He continued, “today it’s good to get two cars in the top ten. Sixth and eighth place is a pretty good effort. We go to Richmond next weekend and our setups are good on short tracks, so we're looking forward to it.”

Dreyer & Reinbold Racing enters its 10th season of full-time competition in 2009, making it one of the longest-tenured teams in Indy Racing League competition. Current co-owners, Dennis Reinbold and Robbie Buhl, first teamed in full-time competition at the Walt Disney World Speedway in January of 2000. With Buhl behind the wheel, the two owners tasted victory in their debut race.
The 2009 IndyCar Series season-opener on the streets of St. Petersburg marked Dreyer & Reinbold Racing's 200th series start. In its history, the team has boasted a championship list of alumni drivers. Besides Buhl, the team has run Indianapolis 500 winners Al Unser Jr., Buddy Lazier, and Buddy Rice, along with IndyCar Series race winner Ryan Briscoe.
The team has one of the longest lines of heritage in American open-wheel racing and the Indianapolis 500 as Dennis Reinbold's grandfather, "Pop" Dreyer, built leading roadsters that raced at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway during the 30s, 40s, and 50s.
More information on the team can be found at http://www.dreyerreinboldracing.com. More information on the IndyCar Series can be found at http://www.indycar.com./

Sasha: I love gypsy music from the Balkans , its a great part of my soul. My favorite is Bregovic.

Perry Now: Do you currently have a girlfriend, and is it serious?
Sasha: Yes l have a girlfriend (pictured above!)...serious or not serious you decide. I just spent one week with her parents who were visiting :)

Perry Now: We read that Virgo men are sometime called the eternal bachelor, one that steers clear of untidy romantic entanglements but if he meets someone whose values and daily rhythm matches his, he's a devoted partner that usually mates for life. He may be persnickety and can be a relentless perfectionist, but it's balanced out by his good qualities of honesty, stability and kindness. Would you agree with this?
Sasha: To be honest, I don't believe in horoscopes, but it all seems very much like me, so maybe I should start believing :)
Perry Now: If you could tell people one thing about yourself that most people do not know, what would that be?
Sasha: I am writing a diary
Perry Now: What is your goal in life…what kind of ‘footprint’ do you want to leave on the world?
Sasha: My goal is to be happy and make the people around me happy, the rest comes itself...a couple of little Sashas wouldn t be bad either :)

Perry Now: I understand that you started racing when you were age 8…can you tell us how that transpired as it seems like an early age to be racing?

Mike Conway: It started out as a bit of fun initially, but it soon got pretty competitive and it grew from there.

PN: Can you describe your childhood when you were growing up in your native country of England?

MC: My childhood was like most kids. It started out playing with friends and trying to stay out of trouble, but when you get involved in racing you sacrifice all of that to focus on racing, which teaches you a lot more discipline that some of the other kids your age.

PN: Why did you originally come to the US, and do you plan one day to return to your home country?

MC: I saw that there were more opportunities for me here in the U.S. and I really enjoy a challenge.

PN: Where does your family live and do you get to visit them often?

MC: They live in the UK in a town called Seven Oaks. I haven’t been home for three months and won’t get home for another two!

PN: Do you have brothers and sisters and what do they do, where do they live?

MC: I have a brother and a sister. My sister is married and lives in the UK. Her passion is the fashion industry! My brother is just finishing college and is majoring in IT.

PN: Racing seems to dominate your life…what do you like to do in your leisure time, what are your hobbies?

MC: I like training in the gym, swimming, running and cycling. I like to keep focused all of the time, but I also like hanging out with friends and going out for dinner.

PN: What kind of food do you like?

MC: I really like Japanese, Italian, and fresh seafood. I spent the last year with an Italian team, so I grew to like Italian food!

PN: What kind of music do you like?

MC: I like all kinds of music, but mainly electro dance, chill Indi Rock music and some 80’s music as well.

PN: Do you play a musical instrument yourself?

MC: The triangle! No, not at the moment, but I would like to learn.

PN: Who are some of your favorite musical artists?

MC: Some of my favorite bands are the Arctic Monkeys, Last of the Shadow Puppets, and Deadman5.

PN: Who are some of your favorite actors?

MC: Some of my favorite actors would be Al Pacino, Robert de Niro, George Clooney, and Brad Pitt.

PN: What kind of movies do you like?

MC: I really like action, comedy and thrillers! Some of my favorite movies would have to be Snatch, Layer Cure, Rock n’ Roller, Lock Stock and 2 Smoking Barrels.

PN: Do you like sports aside from racing, and which one is your favorite?

MC: I don’t have one sport in particular that I like, but I do watch cycling or Olympic sports and the downhill cheese run (it’s held once a year and it’s hilarious!).

PN: When you have a moment to get away on RnR, where do you like to go to recharge?

MC: My favorite place to get away would have to be the Maldives!

PN: What do you find most different about the US from your home country?

MC: The portions! Also everything seems more accessible here and the racing is a lot bigger in the U.S. as well.

PN: What is your favorite city in the US, and in the world? Why?

MC: I would have to say San Francisco, but I haven’t been to that many! My favorite city in the world is Maldive. It’s the best place that I have been to because it’s so quiet and chilled with the clearest water.

PN: Do you currently have a ‘significant other’ in your life and does she live in the United States?

MC: Yes I do and her name is Paola, but unfortunately she is back in the UK!

PN: If you could tell people one thing about yourself that most people would not guess, what would that be?

MC: I used to be an opera singer….

PN: What is your goal in life…what kind of ‘footprint’ do you want to leave on the world?

MC: A size 8…just kidding…I would just like to be successful and achieve my goals in racing. My life goals would be to eventually have a family of my own!
